Techno-commercial application of microencapsulated basil oil and thyme oil and their antibacterial activity against aquatic pathogens

A complete study was conducted through manufacturing of Microencapsulation Basil Oil Powder (MEBOP) and Thyme (METOP) to evaluate the anti-bacterial activity against aquatic pathogens. An oil-in-water emulsion were prepared using gum with dextrin resultant matrix spray dried average yield 45% w/w MEBOP 50% METOP. Total oil content in encapsulated powder both found be 24.39% 25.80% METOP respectively. Scanning Electron Microscopic (SEM) analysis also done confirm encapsulation possible structure matrix. Microencapsulated powders further subjected for antibacterial aquaculture pathogens like Vibrio harvey, parahaemolyticus, Bacillus cereus, Aeromonas sp, E. coli Salmonella sp. Results compared respective oils at different concentrations. Phyto- constituents from Thymol, Linalool, Methyl chavicol quantified HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) GC (Gas which may responsible this activity. Furthermore, stress studies 60 °C understand stability Encapsulated its commercial usage formulations.
